OneWest Community Conversations
Thursday, January 17 @ 5-8pm
Location: the Common Table (Catholic Charities)
Goal: Provide community members an additional opportunity to ask questions and give input regarding specific development projects coming to their neighborhoods.
Presenting Partners for November 13 event:
Louisville Central Community Centers with «The BLVD,»
Louisville Urban League with «Sports and Learning Complex,»
Waterfront Park with «Phase IV»
This is part of a series of events (in January, March, May and June) that the OneWest Community Engagement Committee is hosting across the 9 West End neighborhoods — this one is strategically located to reach Portland and Russell residents, although all are welcome at any of the events.
Potential Event Timeline:
5-6pm: Dinner, Information tables (from other project partners, including OneWest)
6-7pm: First Breakout session — choose between LCCC, LUL and Waterfront
7-8pm: Second Breakout session — choose between LCCC, LUL and Waterfront
The focus of the evening will be the two 45-minute breakout session conversations with key community partners (back to back sessions, 6-8pm) while some other partners are hosting Information tables at the start of the evening. You will choose which two partner presentations you want to hear, out of the three.
The desired outcome is that participants are able to talk to decision-making staff from the presenting organizations, in order to make sure their feedback is heard at a level that is impactful. The breakout sessions will focus on being interactive/dialogue-based, and provide time for participants to ask questions about the project and how it will affect their lives.
